We are back!!!… in Africa :)

by dhammett on November 12, 2011

The trip was 51 hours door to door…and not too eventful. 🙂

(For those that did not know we were in the States…we were. For those that did not know we left…we are gone. )

When we arrived in Joburg the car keys were locked in the office of the guesthouse so we waited until 8 AM when the office opened…then the battery was dead. This is a 5 month old battery! Must be an electrical drain somewhere. But what can I expect with a 15 year old vehicle?

Scott is the Logistics Coordinator there at the guesthouse and was very helpful. We tried jumping the car…but could not get the battery to take on enough life even after 1 1/2 hours of charging. So off to the store we went and I purchased another battery.

Then we made our way to Polokwane to eat a quick lunch with George and Kristin and family before heading the rest of the way to Francistown.

We dodged animals on the road after dark. It was a good way to keep us awake and on the edge of our seats. 🙂

When we arrived we found that one of our dogs was gone. Kiara had been with us the longest. We are still hoping to find her. Evidently the alarm had gone off and the security people came…only to let 2 dogs out. One came back, but Kiara would not. Though I doubt the security company will cover the loss, I do intend to talk with them about it.

So now we are back and everything is intact. We are setting up our computer and have at least been able to get back on the internet. My sound is not working, but hopefully I can figure out the problem on that soon.

A million and one things to do to get back in the swing of things.

Thank you to all of you that we were able to see. Sorry we were not able to connect with everyone we wanted to. It was a real joy to get to see at least a few folks.

It was a great joy to see so many people and to teach at Lehigh Valley Bible Baptist Institute and at Masters Baptist College.

I was also able to report to 8 churches on the work here. It was an encouragement to meet so many that pray for the ministry here.

Keep looking up!

PDH and family…except Sam…who is still there…in case you are wondering. 🙂
